Well hello there. Thanks for stopping by.
If you’re interested in knowing more about me, then you’re in for a treat, because I have nothing but exciting anecdotes to share from my life. Actually, that’s not true, because I’m pretty boring. But, I appreciate your interest!
I live in the UK. I’m a novelist and a parent. I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Yorkshire in 2007. I graduated from Madonna University with a BA in English in 2007, and I earned a MA in English in 2008 from the University of Leeds, England. I am interested in the topics of homeland, identity and the state, and my novel The Stateless Ones (2016) and my current writing projects explore these ideas and how they relate to each other.
Basically I vacillate between taking myself way too seriously and not taking anything seriously, which is the weltanshaung by which I navigate my life. I advocate lots of questioning of the universe, interspersed with humor. I don’t like to judge people, except myself.
“Not bad,” I’m thinking to myself, as I read what I’ve written. “If this was a dating website, I’d get like, a hundred hits in the first five minutes. In fact, I might go open a singles account. Screw this blog crap; I’m outta here.”
